putting someone in the recovery position is easy. if they are sat on something e.g an sofa gently lift them down to the floor being careful of there head sit next to them if you are sat on there right move there left hand if your on there left move the right hand. you mve the hand over the neck and then lift there leg up grab there trousers and pull them onto the side. if you wonder how i know this i have trained with st.johns ambulance in Yorkshire and its well instructed.

Some people use synonymously recovery position and modified H.A.IN.E.S. recovery position. As you can see from the related link, they are slightly different.
