To balance a mower blade after sharpening: Clean all dirt and debris off the blade (either before or after sharpening, but before balancing). Insert a screw driver through the center hole of the blade and lift/hold the blade where it will balance itself on the screwdriver shaft (on a horizontal plane). If the blade is not balanced, it will swing to the heavier side - this side will need a little more sharpening (removal of metal) in order to make it balance on the screwdriver shaft. Do not remove too much at a time or it will wind up being unbalanced on the opposite side. The blade is balanced when it remains on a horizontal plane.
Remove deck and belts and turn deck up so you can see blades , see here they hit or clash. Be sure spindle is not bent by checking rotation and height of both blades from deck as they turn. You will need to loosen spindle hold down bolts and move spindles out until there is clearance. As most units are set with no real adjustment are you sure the drck has not been dammaged somehow to cause blade clash? Uneven cut between blades happens so the spindle base may need to be shimmed to get both or all spindles to same height as arc of blade is measured from flat surface. Be sure blades are not bent as this will give a unecen cut or lap streaks when cutting.
the blades are probaly hitting something.
how do you change the blade from a troy bilt riding mower
You can lift a riding lawn mower with a car or floor jack in order to change the blades. Simply place the jack under the frame of the lawn mower but away from the blades to lift it. Then, block the mower up using bricks or concrete blocks.
have u tried looking in the manual
