With tires removed, remove the 6 bolts holding the axle to the hub, remove the 1st ring nut and lock washer from the axle housing, then remove the 1st hub axle housing nut, the hub will now come off the axle housing.
When you do your repairs take into account replacing all components that may need replacing soon, or you will have to repeat this whole process again unnecessarily. Be sure to replace both inner and outer hub oil seals, replace both bearings also, follow the manufacturers installation specification exactly, not following their guidelines may cause rear bearing failure, axle and/or axle housing damage and oil leakage.

first you have to take the wheels off of the van,and then you have to take the tension off of the brake shoes. Next you will be able to remove the rear brake drums off of the vehicle.You may have to tap them with a hammer to break them free.

Remove the wheel and tap the drums at back with a 'deadblow' hammer, rotating the drum as you do this. The brake shoes tend to hold drums on.
