Way too late for the OP - but just got mine out. They tend to seize into the block - I was able to remove it by using a large shifter to fit onto the hex on the waterpump, and attempting to rotate it in each direction. This eventually broke the seal, and the water pump dropped out. A very large extension was required.....
Remove the water from the cooling system. Remove the water hose from the heater core. Remove the heater core retaining bolts. Reverse the process to install the new heater core.

Remove off side front wheel, behind the wheel is a flexible water cover secured by 2 nuts on the top and 2 on each side, and 1 screw underneath. Remove this cover and the fan belts are accesible

The water pump is under the timing belt cover on the passenger side.
The best way to remove it is with water and some shampoo. Peanut butter will not permanently stick to or damage hair, which is good. Water will rinse it out, but shampoo is important so that the oils wash out and don't make your hair greasy.
