Then, take your nail and SLOWLY peel the adhesive, but test it on a corner first. Finish up and then clean any other minor residues (assuming that it is a project)

Try using ZIPPO lighter fluid. A little on a paper towel or rag will take off any sticky residue. Just remember this stuff is flammable. Just about any organic solvent will remove adhesive. Organic solvents include lighter fluid, nail polish remover, paint thinner, and carburetor cleaner. Hardware stores sell products with orange solvent, which should work fine. Once the adhesive is softened, use a straight edge razor blade to scrape the glass clean.
