I just changed the starter on my cutlass cierra 92, and I took it just one step at a time. I disconnected the battery, then I jacked up the car and put the front on jackstands. Then under the motor just behind the radiator, you will find your starter. There is a dust cover that is held by one nut. you must remove this. It has two bolts (i used 15mm socket) and if they haven't been moved in the last 13 years get ready to use wd40 to remove them. The starter should drop as you remove them and it fits out of the space between the frame and the rad pipes. Look carefully at the wires. Only one goes on the small connecter. All the others go on the large connecter. Put the new starter back in the reverse order, and it should work.
you have to remove the crossmember to do this.

Remove the battery terminals from your battery and then remove the starter from it's home. Replace with new starter and reconnect battery terminals. Replace air filter housing and hose, then fire it up. Worked like a dream.
