just remove the door trim then carfully remove the plastic film so u can replace it...now u can remove the door lock....once u remove its retaining clip it will puch out.
To remove the rear door trim from your 1999 Ford Laser KN hatch, start by carefully prying off any plastic covers or clips that may be hiding screws, usually located around the door handle and the edges of the trim. Remove the screws using the appropriate screwdriver, then gently pull the trim away from the door, starting from the bottom and working your way up. Be cautious of any remaining clips, and ensure you disconnect any wiring for speakers or controls before fully detaching the trim.
The inside door trim is held in place by several retaining clips. Pry outward on each retaining clip to remove the trim.
You have to take the inside door trim out of the door, then there will be some bolts on the inside of the door remove the nuts and your door latch will come out.

Remove all bolts from around the door trim. Some models have pop rivits and may take a pry tool to loosen these rivets as you remove the inside trim from the door. Door trim should slide upwards and is removed. If speakcers are attached to door trim, disconect wires. There are two bolts in the upper corner of inside of the door that secure the mirror. Remove them and be careful no to drop into the door frame. Make sure any power wires are detached by manipulating the cord until you can see the connection in an open hole in the mid/lower part of the door.
remove the inner door panel, you can access the bolts from the inside of the door.
By the door handle, there's that little plastic cap. Pop that off, T15 driver to remove the screw. Remove the bezel. In the 'door close pull', remove the false cover. 7mm screw. Go along the edge of the door trim. At the back and bottom (front doors only) are two more T15 screws. Remove them. Finally, use a trim puller to remove the door panel. Don't just pull, you'll break the door panel itself, and Ford charges a good $700 for new ones.
remove small round plastic cap behind inside door handle, remove the screw, remove screws from door panel edges, starting at the bottom..pull the panel straight off the door. a door trim tool (if available) may be used to release the clips behind the panel
At the base of the pillar behind the door. One for each side. You have to remove the plastic trim.
