You must remove the seat from the truck. It is attached to the floor of the cab with 4 bolts, I think. When you get the seat out, turn it over and you will see how the arm rest is attached.

If you are talking about the arm rest lid, you have to remove the screws at the hinge. If you are talking about the base, it is part of the console and requires more work.
remove the window handle, remove screws from armrest, remove the inner door handle and the screw on the lower rear of the door panel, lift the panel upwards to remove from the slots along the bottom of the door.
Unzip the armrest cover and pull forward. You will the see the bolt that holds the armrest onto the seat.
Using a flat head screw driver, pop off the two plugs that are oval shaped on both sides of the armrest (the plugs are located below the armrest to the side of the seat in the console). Inside you will see two hex screws on each side. Remove the screws and the armrest and bracket list up. I haven't figured out how to remove the bracket from the armrest yet.
You need to pop out the plastic cover over the nut in the armrest. Then use a 14 mm deep socket to remove the armrest. The job takes less than a minute.
