Which motor do you have SOHC or DOHC?
the battery ground cable is fastened to the lower starter motor bolt
if it is a dohc motor it will be four but if its a single over head cam it should be 2
um i beleave it is behind the motor underneth the intake manifold above the starter motor... one senson with a green wire coming out of it... and your welcome!!
the senor is located on the front of the engine block right above the starter you need to drop the starter and oil filter to remove the sensor
First remove the neg batt cable. Then remove the wires from the starter, take out the bolts holding the starter and work it out amongst the exhaust. GoodluckJoe Yea, Right.... Wouldn't that be wonderful? I suspect the first answer relates to a 4 cylinder Contour/Mystique! See "Related Questions" below for more of the grisly details on a v6 DOHC starter
It is an engine rather than motor - Double OverHead Cam
The 2.4 litre DOHC engine is NOT an interference engine.
You will need to jack up the front of the car a few inches,8-10.Disconnect the battery!! The starter is on the bottom and just about in the middle of the car about two feet back from the front of the car, mounted at the engine/transmission connection. To remove the starter simply remove the positive cable from the screw post on the starter coil, remove the plug in connector located right next to it(pull straight out) and remove the two screws from the back of the starter unit, that's it.Installation is the reverse
remove plastic cover that dohc 24 valves and that big black mess going from front to back of motor is the intake
The 4th generation Prelude (1992-1996) had three engine variants, the "S" motor (SOHC F22A1), "Si" motor (DOHC H23A1), and "VTEC" motor (DOHC H22A1).
