It is best to use the wiring diagram for the Mercedes 190 E to remove the panel door. You must use certain tools as well to remove the panel door such as a latch pin removal pliers and rivet head removal tool to remove the panel door.
I believe it is the same as for a 98. Re the rear panel, you need to pry up the plastic panel in the bottom of the door grip well (for closing the door from inside). Underneath are two screws which must be removed.
No screws are removed to clear the door opening handle inside - it stays with the door while the panel comes off. Unscrew the door lock chromed plastic pin on top to ease panel removal and protect the pin.
There are 12 panel fasteners then to pry/pop out - 5 across the top, 2 at bottom, 2 at front, 3 more at back. If you start at the bottom you can begin to see where the rest are. I used 2 putty knives to protect the painted metal and the panel. You may need a long trim panel tool to access some of the fasteners. I used a long bar with flat end and pliers on the end to twist it to pop fasteners out. About half the fasteners came out entirely with the panel - so those white fastener catches will need to be reinserted in the door before popping the panel back on.
The speaker is not attached to the panel so no worries there.
One other hint. If you need to access things behind the weather protection sheet fitted onto the door (prob will), use a hair drier on the outside to help soften the adhesive to peel it off.
