The fuel pump on a 93 Jaguar XJ12 is removed by removing the tank straps, lowering the tank, disconnecting the wiring harness, and unbolting the pump. It can then be lifted from the tank and removed.

The fuel pump is located in the trunk under the floor below and to the right of the latch bar. Use a small Phillips screw driver to remove the rest of the rear trunk floor after you have removed the spare tire floor cover and spare tire. Disconnect the electical leads to the pump and undo the nut and bolts secureing the pump and pump surround to the floor. Have a quite large bolt (1/2 inch or so) handy because when you disconnect the larger fuel line feeding the pump (from the left side) fuel WILL flow out of this line quite readily. Another option is to clamp this line so as to keep fuel spillage to a minimum.( A pair of vise grips with round 3/8 rod welded to the jaws works nice). The smaller line will leak fuel too, but not as much. When you are handling the pump be aware it is likely full of fuel - which runs out either end when tilted - have a rag or coffee can handy. Connect the new pump and clean up the spilt fuel.
