I've just done this - take off the panel covering the rear door and pop off the handle surround gently with a screw driver, then there are 2 small clips at the bottom you need to gently prise out with a screw driver. Next, there are 2 small metal arms/bars that run north - south that control the lock mechanism - were they join the plastic handle, they angle 90 degrees and are held in by a little clip each - gently place a screwdriver in this and prise away from the handle and it will undo the clip - one each side - they handle unit them comes away. There are then 4 small bolts holding on to the number plate unit - remove these and it comes away
