If you really want to know I'll tell you. Your going to need at least 3 hours and a coursing jar for this one. I just replaced mine and the plug wires as well. What a job. Dealer will charge two arms , a leg and a kidney for that job.

1) You'll find two motor mounts that look like dog bones at the front of the motor attached to the radiator support, remove all four bolts. You'll need a pry bar to use to pull the motor forward to remove them. Theres a hoisting mount to the right of the motor with a elong gated hole. Insert the bar from the back side and pull slightly forward. This will allow you to remove the front two bolts.

2)There two ways you can do this. (A) Have a friend insert pry bar in hoist mount (right side) and pull back as far as he can go and hold it there. He'll be holding for a while. As far as plug removal goes, you'll just have to man handle them out.

(B) This is my preferred method. You'll need a ratcheting strap tie down ( something you can find at Wal-Mart or other places) and another point of hook up.

Replace one of the bolts and nuts back into its mounting position (one on upper left of motor) and hook the ratcheting side to it, then place the other hook on another solidly attached item. You can back another vehicle up with in reach and hook up to it via tow hook of back bumper or even use a tree.

Ratchet the strap taut until the motor begins to move forward. Go as far as you can. Now the motor is rolled forward enough so you can reach and remove the plugs. This will not be easy.

All that is just for the back side. When you are finished, just release the strap and use you pry bar to assist in reinstalling the front two bolts.

The front plugs are easy to reach, but are hard to remove aswell. Be careful not to pull on the wire itself or you'll be replacing them also. If you have over 100,000 thousand miles on the motor, you'll need to replace the plug wires as well, and that's another job in itself, just as painfull as the back plugs.

If you need me to talk you through it give me your number and name and I'll be happy to help. I'm in Alaska so my time zone will be different.

Good luck Mike

Wow that's a big job...I have a 2001 LS and have done the plugs and wires twice...I put the car on jack stands front and back...slide under car and reach up by exhaust pipe. wires are on super tight you will need wire puller tool or (pliers if your replacing wires). The 3 plugs are also removed from this position. Still a tough job working under car but is a lot easier than diconnecting mounts.
