The A is for January (B Feb, C Mar, etc.), the 3 represents the year 2013, and the 014 represents the 14th day (out of 365, which is why there are 3 characters) of the year.

It is stamped in black on the neck of the bottle. On my OJ bottle it is stamped US AM3 E, on the lemonade bottle it is stamped AM1 E. Not sure what AM1 E and AM3 E stand for. I called Simply Orange at 1-800-871-2653 because I had the same question and a nice gentleman answered and told me that the AM1 or AM3 E and date were put on the bottle just in case of a reported problem, and this is done so contents could be traced back to the factory in Florida that produced the juice. The country of origin is first and on my bottle was US. He said it would be BRAZIL if produce or oranges came from there.
