Remove the bolts on one end of the strap and the strap should pivot down from the hinged end. Use ample lubricant on both ends of the strap.
I think you have to remove the drive shaft, remove the straps to the tank and drop it, of course disconnect the battery, and remove as much gas as possible.
remove both tank straps from tank drop down enough to slide back 4 inches twist straps 90 degrees and slide up into slot and remove. install new straps and install

thats easy job.get underneath truck, disconect fuel line,and electrical line. block up tank so it doesnt fall. undo the bolts on the straps that run under tank.remove straps. lower tank,oops dont forget to remove screws at filler spout on truck body
the fuel pump is located in the gas tank of the truck, they tell you to remove the tank but you can just unbolt the straps and drop it down enough to get to it
empty fuel tank and either remove tank straps and wiring connector or remove the truck bed and replace sending unit. Either way is a pain!
You are going to need to drop the tank. Get it as nearly empty as you can. Take off the mounting straps and it will come down to you.

remove as much fuel as possible as it gets heavy. Take the straps loose enough to remove the lines and electrical connections then take them all the way off and drop the tank. NOT EASY.
Copied from another answer, but probably similar: Place a jack under tank to support the tank. Remove fuel tank straps. Slowly lower tank. When able to reach in, diconnect all electric lines and fuel lines. Continue to lower tank and remove. Helpful hint, hope the tank is nearly empty.
