Purchase a windshield and door trim removal kit from Harbor Freight for approximately $6 to $15.
To remove the windshield trim on a 1968 Chevy Impala you will need a trim removal tool that has slides which can release the locking clips.
Your local auto parts store can sell you the simple tools needed to help you remove the windshield trim without damaging the trim or the glass.

Start by pulling back the trim that holds the rubber boot for the mirrors to the bike. Under the boot you will find a screw that holds the front windshield trim, remove the screw, remove the trim and you will be able to see the mounting screws for the shield.
Carefully take the trim off from around the windshield then very, very carefully cut the calk that is between the windshield and the frame loose.

First, remove all weatherstripping from the top of the door. Next, remove all torx screws a the top of the door and remove body piece. Then there are three phillips screws, remove them and the screw just below the windshield. Voila! To remove the rear trim piece, remove interior pilar cover, then the five screws behind it. Done est. To replace a windshield wiper motor for a 1998 F150, first remove the bottom trim on the window. Then remove both wiper blade assemblies and all screws on the metal cowling. Remove the retaining clip from the wiper motor linkage and pull the controls rods off.
Every car has its own way to remove the windshield. The basic is to remove the cowl (the bottow part of the windshield where the wipers sit on top of, it a long plastic piece) after that you remove the trim (moulding). Then your insert a special tool called a cold knife, looks like a L shape knife. You slide that knife between the pinchweld and the glass, and pull it all around the edge of the glass, this is separating the glass from the poly-uranthane which holds the glass. That all
1. Remove the inside rear view mirror. 2. Remove the cowl top vent panel. 3. Remove the necessary interior trim to access the inside toop and side edges of the windshield glass. 4. Pry up the end of the windshield outside moulding. Twist and pull to remove. 5. Cut the urethane sealant. 6. Insert an inflatable pump bag at the top of the windshield glass. Gently push the windshield glass outward from the inside of the vehicle to insure the urethane sealant has been broken. 7. Use a razor blade knife to cut any remaining urethane that is holding the windshield glass and remove the glass. 8. Clean off any sealant with alcohol free solvent if the windshield is to be resused.
You'll need to remove the trim and use a piano wire to cut the seal. Once the seal is gone, carefully push it out far enough to grab it and lift it out. It's best to have a friend help you with that one.
