Right click on file click properties then uncheck read only. This is opposed to copyright protection which is beyond the scope of this site to explain and requires software. WikiAnswers will not educate anyone on how to defeat copy protection or DRM schemes.

I too faced this problem, I did some R & D found that the card reader is a culprit. I tried to copy files with different card reader it did not give any such message of write protection. So, you can also give a try with fresh card reader. Hope it solves your problem of write protection. Cheers Telugu bidda

open it up in an audio editor...i use audacity...if it wont open up in that, open it in notepad or something and there should be a short portion of readable text...delete it

If you are using it with the SD adaptor, the swith at the side marked lock is not to secure the micro sd card within the adaptor. This is the write protection. If you set this to the 'unlocked' position (up) then you should be able to write files onto it! very good thanks

Write protection is a feature on some CDs, dvds, and flash drives, that prevent the user from copying over the existing information. To remove the write protection from a Kingston pen drive, simply insert it into the computer and right click on the flash drive icon. From there, go to properties, select the hardware tab, then select the policies tab. One can remove the write protection from the policies tab.

SD cards have a switch on the left side (with electrical contacts side down) that controls write protection. When the switch is moved in the direction of the contacts on the underside of the card write protection is disabled. If the switch is moved in the opposite direction write protection is enabled.
