To repair a 1998 Neon sunroof, first, inspect the mechanism for any visible damage or obstructions. Remove the headliner and check the motor, cables, and tracks for wear or breakage. If the motor isn’t functioning, replace it; for issues with the tracks, clean them and apply lubricant. Reassemble everything carefully, ensuring the sunroof seals properly to avoid leaks.

To manually operate the sunroof in a 2000 Dodge Neon, first ensure the vehicle is parked and turned off. Locate the manual sunroof crank, usually found in the glove compartment or near the sunroof mechanism. Insert the crank into the designated slot on the sunroof panel, and turn it to open or close the sunroof as needed. Make sure to do this gently to avoid damaging the mechanism.
You must smash the sunroof with a hammer to get insurance to cover it.
