Remove the you joint and driveshaft. Remove the rear end seal plate. Remove the seal and bearing. Reverse the process to install the new seal.

The easiest way to do it- both get at the front end for the timing kit and the rear seal is unfortunately to remove grill and radiator- unbolt tranny and engine and kind of slide it forward
i had a 81 c10 i replaced mine with a 85 the only thing i could find different was mine did not have tilt wheel i had no problems other than the a/c wire was to short but was a easy fix i would think it would work in you case but do not know all the details on yours
