Is there any video on how to replace a thermocouple on a gas fireplace
Device called a thermocouple. Turns off the gas if it does not sense a flame. Check with your local gas appliance repair company, have them replace. Fairly cheap item, and they DO go bad.
Probably the thermocouple needs to be replaced. They serve to keep gas from flowing if the pilot light is out. Contact your gas company for referral to a qualified service company.
I wouldn't. Every aspect of your gas fireplace was designed to work safely and efficiently as it came from the manufacturer. I would let it be as it is.
The thermocouple proves to the system that the pilot light is lit and the gas valve can safely open.
Just a guess- but most have a sensor known as a thermocouple. This detects the heat of the flame of the pilot light, and keeps gas from flowing if the pilot light is not lit. check that your pilot light (a very small flame) is burning, and that the flame heats a small metal tube- about as big as a wooden match. If pilot is out, get it lit, and let burn for 5 minutes, and try lighting fireplace. If it still will not stay lit, the thermocouple may need replacement- they DO wear out. Check with your local gas appliance repair service. While they are fixing it, have them show you correct lighting process.
Replace the thermocouple. The skinny copper line that goes from the gas valve to the pilot and senses when it is lit.
your pilot generater or thermocouple is probly bad

You do NOT clean a thermocouple. They are really inexpensive and when they are giving problems have a LMP / or Gas fitter replace it

The thermocouple keeps a gas pilot light burning.
Electronic ignition refering to it having a sparker to light the pilot light? That just lights the pilot, there is still a thermocouple that controls the gas valve. The thermocouple is the small tube that sits in the pilot flame and runs to the control valve. To replace, you will need to remove the cover plate, gas line, thermocouple, and sparker wire as a unit and replace the thermocouple once you have it out and them re-install the unit.
Electric fireplace inserts are perfect for the individual wanting the warmth and feel of a real fireplace, without the hassel. They replace your current gas or wood fireplace with safe, clean electric inserts.
