If you are lucky, you have a cabin air filter. Not all 2007 Malibu's came with these filters. If you do have one it will be located behind the glove box in front of the passengers seat. Open the glove box, and remove it, being careful not to break the black bits, one on each side; a puddy knife works great. If you have a cabin air filter it will be located in the area behind the glove-box when the glove-box is re-mounted. Otherwise you will see a black plastic box with nothing on it. I tried to jurry-rig a filter to it, but it just didn't work out.

It didn't come with a cabin filter when it left the factory. Look behind the glove compartment door, some say there is a place for one.

The cabin air filter is behind the glove box. However it is usually not there and you wind up using one from another similar model. or I have heard that a piece of furnace filter will work. I am using a WIX 24882 cabin air filter for other GM vehicles. Bought it on Amazon.
One can easily replace the cabin air filter for a 2007 Ford Ranger by getting help from a Chiltons manual. Another way, a little faster but more money will be paid out would be to take the Ranger to a mechanic.
