A horrible task
The entire rear diff unit has to be removed. It's a huge job not suited to non-professionals. Expect to pay for about 8 man hours plus parts and don't even think about taking this to a non Jag mechanic (so the hours will be expensive). Most Jag owners try to get as much rear end work out of the way all at the same time because removing and refitting the rear end is so expensive/painful.

∙ 12y agoWith patience. The bolt are 5/8s and hopefully don't have lockwires on them. Remove the bolts (conds easy, 1/8 of a turn at a time times 4...) Remove the 7/16" bolts and push the handbrake assemblies out of the way... and they will come out. Install is much harder than removal.

jack the truck up, remove the wheels. There is usually 2 bolts that hold the calipers on, and usually there is a bracket that holds the calipers to the pads. Remove old pads and replace with the new and replace the caliper, bracket, and bolts
