You must remove the fuel tank.
The fuel pump is in the gas tank, you have to take the tank down to replace it.

Pull the gas tank down and you will see where the pump goes into the tank.
Possibly loose connection or the relay is failing. Replace the fuel pump relay first.
The 1989 Camaro didn't have a 350 TPI (not stock, anyway)
The fuel pump relay of a 1983 Chevy Camaro can be found inside the relay fuse block. It provides power to the fuel pump.

You will need to drop the gas tank, unhook the fuel lines, and replace the old fuel pump with a new one and hook back up the fuel lines.

Chevy swtitched some of Camaros to fuel injection in the mid 1980's. By 1988 every Camaro engine came with Fuel injection.
It has an electric fuel pump inside of the fuel tank.

On an 82-92 Chevy Camaro you will need a 7mm socket.The bolts holding the fuel filler door on are located on the inside of the fuel filler door.Open the door and remove the bolts holding the door on.An instructional video has also been enclosed.
