If you question the condition of the thermostat, just replace it, they're cheap enough.
show pic's of replacing thermostat on dodge durango
you shouldn't just follow your coolant hose
Contrary to every other car and truck that I have worked on, the 2004 Dodge Durango has its thermostat located on the bottom radiator hose. A close inspection of the bottom hose where it connects to the engine will show you the thermostat housing.
The thermostat on a 4.7L is under the housing where the lower radiator hose hooks to the engine.
i had a Dakota with the V8 .and if it is like the 97 dodge Dakota it will be on the housing from the top radiator hose
Should be at the engine end of the upper radiator hose
99 Durango doesn't have a Heater Control Valve, It only has a thermostat
Usually in a housing located at the engine end of the upper radiator hose I have an 01 Durango with a 4.7 and the thermostat is in the lower radiator hose at the engine end.
i want to replace the auxiliary water pump on my 2005 dodge durango. will you please provide a video to show me exactly where it is located and how to replace it? thank you
Try in the housing at the engine end of the upper radiator hose
Its located within thw housing od the bottom radiator hose....should be bottom left
Dodge doesn't have a 4.6L
The thermostat is located on the bottom of the the timing cover. crawl under the front end and look for the hose and housing. Its right in the front of the block.
It would, but it is not a good idea.
With another Headlight Assembly that is made for a 1999 Dodge Durango.
If the thermostat has failed it will need replaced.
The fuse box in a Dodge Durango is under the dash on the drivers side of the vehicle. It is located to the left of the park brake pedal. To get to the fuses to replace them, you need to open the cover.
Were is the power window fuse and/or circuit breaker located in a 1999 dodge durango?
If your vehicle keeps overheating, you should flush the cooling system, replace the coolant, and replace the thermostat. In fact, you should have done that before this.
The thermostat is located on the front of the intake manifold. Follow the upper rad hose to the manifold. It drops behind the alternator. Not a fun place to work but you can remove the thermostat housing and hose connected together.
Non 4.7L Follow the top radiator hose to the top of the engine intake. The hose goes on to the thermostat housing. Take off the housing, the thermostat is inside. when you replace the thermostat, be sure it is oriented the same way as the one you removed. 4.7L, follow the lower radiator hose to the engine, it is under that housing.
A 2002 Dodge Durango does not have a cabin filter.
Follow the upper radiator hose. Where it attaches to the engine vertically is the thermostat housing. Remove this to access the thermostat. This job is easier if you first remove the alternator and its upper support bracket.
How to replace the inside Spectra Heater Core on a 2000 dodge durango??
