How do you replace the timing chain on a 1994 Pontiac Grand Am?
if its a chain^
Does a 1997 Pontiac Grand Am have a timing belt or timing chain- If it has a timing chain does it really need to be replaced at 150000 miles?
Technically you are supposed to replace the timing belt or chain every 60,000 miles. It is a costly expense to replace it so often but it can be far more costly if you don't. Since your vehicle has a chain the pieces can wear down and eventually break and shoot up into your engine causing catastrophic engine failure which can completely ruin your vehicle.
