How do you replace the water pump on a 1997 Mitsubishi Galant?

To replace the water pump you are going to have to go down past the timing belt. if you dont feel comfortable replacing the timing belt then you would be better off leting a pro handle it. the reason i say that is cause if the timing belt is reinstalled incorrectly it could cause major engine damage (bend the valves)

Close the sun roof of the 1997 Mitsubishi Eclipse and spray water on the outside of it. Carefully look on the inside to see where the water is coming in. Then reattach or replace the gaskets as needed where the water is coming in to fix the leak.

Open your trunklid, and look down, you will see some carpeting, most likely held on with plastic clips, unfasten your clips, and pull the carpeting back, and you will see where your bulbs go in, now grab the bulbholder from the backside, turn to the left, and pull it out, and replace.
