I googled "04 Dodge Ram Manual" and downloaded the service manual from one of the links, which is different than the owners manual. The service manual is 2000+ pages long....here's what is says about the overhead console removal procedure....REMOVAL OVERHEAD CONSOLE REMOVAL (1) Disconnect and isolate the negative battery cable. (2) Remove the overhead console retaining screws, located in the sunglass storage bin. (3) Using your fingertips, grasp the sides of the overhead console and pull straight down evenly to disengage the two snap clips at the front of the unit. (4) Lower the overhead console far enough to access the wire harness connectors. (5) Disconnect the EVIC, CMTC electronic module and the reading/courtesy lamps electrical connectors. I had taken my 2000 Silhouette in for other problems and since I had it in the shop, I asked about the lamps on the overhead console and on the steering wheel remotes for the radio. They told me that the lamps are not replaceable, but the whole switch has to bed replaced. I thought that this was quite a bummer.

There are 4 Phillips head screws. One that you can see at the front leading edge. The other three are hidden in the storage cubbys of the console. Just open the doors and look with a flash light...you will see them. The console is very light and will hang by the switch wires when you unscrew it.
Key on and shut the doors. Press "step" until "0 miles to service" is displayed. Now press and hold "reset" until the mileage resets.
