Turn key on, DO NOT START Then push gas pedal all the way to the floor 3 times being sure that you let all the way off of it each time. Then turn key off and then start the engine.

On my 2003 silverado I turn the key to the on position and press the gas pedel all the way to the floor 3 times. On the dash it will pop up the message "change oil" then it will pop up the message "oil life rest".
