Make sure you have a good battery with full charge as these VW electronics are very tempermental to voltage. If you are able to start the car and it dies in a few seconds you should see the immobilizer light flashing on the dash. Turn the key on to the run position and leave it on for about 30 mins or so. the light should stop flashing then your good to go! This works 90% of the time. if it does not, then you have to get it flashed by a VAG scanner that is either the dealer or independent shop with the correct equipment. If you have an extra key, you should try it as well if the first one does not re-learn.
