It depends on the year. If its 99 or later chances are you'll need a local dealer to amend it.
Press the trip reset button and keep it depressed while you turn on the ignition. After about 10 sec the oil service warning will reset and you can let go of the button It depends of what model of Polo are you using. If your using a 1995 Polo Classic depress the trip reset button then turn on and off the ignition for 3x then number 1 - 7 will appear choose a number then depress reset button again.
How do reset the oil service light on a 2001 polo?
When the car is serviced by a VW garage the ECU (computer brain of the car) is hooked up to computer and would be reset then, i presume you've serviced car yourself so besides learning to hook your ECU to your PC I would ignore until your next major service and have that done with VW mechanic.
When your car is serviced at a non-vw garage or at home by yourslef, the ecu doesnt know its had a service, so the service indicator stays on. To reset it: -(with the ignition off and keys out) press and hold the mile reset button -turn ignition on -wait until the display goes like '--' -turn ignition off and keys out and release button
