Shine a light on the number wheels.

Push a wheel down toward the bottom of the lock (to one side of where it spins) and rotate it through the numbers, you are trying to see some little pins behind the wheel, so hold the wheel with two fingers, push it down and turn it.

When you see the pins (look like little balls), count the gaps between them.

it goes:

gap, gap, pin, gap, *pin*, gap, gap, pin, gap, *pin*.

The numbers that follow a single gap are the two potential numbers for that wheel. write them down (note that they are always 5 away from each other).

Repeat for each wheel (mine has 4 wheels).

you will end up with two potential number for each wheel like this:

8 3

7 2

now you need to try each combination of those numbers, there's only 16 so its not so bad:
