A truly dead person cannot be revived. A person who has suffered a trauma or accident and has no pulse or heartbeat can have their heart restarted by means of an electric shock or (less successfully) by CPR (but in those cases, they are not truly dead in a clinical sense). Once brain death occurs, revival is impossible, though the body can continue functioning by artificial means.
