Just bid on a item. You can pay for it if you won it.
Click the link to see how, under some circumstances, you can retract a bid on Ebay.
You should not retract a bid at all without good reason because bids that you place are binding. The permissible reasons for retraction are: that you are unable to contact the seller, that the seller has materially changed the listing after you bid or that you made a mistake with your bid, in which case you should enter the correct amount immediately after the retraction If you retract without good reason, the seller can report you for invalid bid retraction. Too many retractions can limit your activity on eBay so it is important not to bid until you are sure that you want the item.
Once you commit to a bid, you have entered a binding contract and must pay the seller for the item if you win it, so it is very important that you only ever bid the absolute maximum amount that you are willing to pay. There are very few exceptions to this contract, and you cannot normally cancel (or retract) your bid unless you can meet any one of the specific requirements, as follows:i)if you mistyped your bid, e.g., you mistakenly typed 59.50 instead of 5.95ii)if the description of the item has substantially changed since you placed your bid, i.e., the seller has released further details with regards to conditionoriii) if you cannot reach the seller by email or telephoneThere are also time limits involved. You can only retract your bid if you placed it and are retracting it before the last 12 hours of the auction. If you place a bid within the last 12 hours of the auction, you may only retract the bid within one hour of placing it.If you meet one or more of these criteria, you may fill out the form to request a bid retraction by clicking on "retract bid" link at the bid history page.If you do not meet the conditions to retract a bid, your recourse is to contact the seller. Explain the situation to them and ask them to cancel your bid. They are under no obligation to do so.
