How do you save in the Legend of Zelda link's awakening?

In Majoras mask, there are special owl statues that you have to hit with your sword (these statues also act as warp points, when you use the song of soaring). After you hit one of these statues, you press A to 'talk' to them, and it will give you the option to save and quit.

Or you can play the song of time, and the game will ask you if you wish to save, and return to the first day.

I believe it it select (but it could be start). In the Super Nintendo version, you can only save and quit, in the Gameboy version you can save or save and quit.

You just press A, B, Select, and Start all at once. It takes a little getting used to, but this is the only way to do it.

Plug in a second controller, and the using that second controller, press A and UP at the same time. This will pring ip the 'quick save' screen. You can also save when you get a game over.
