Why do Americans celebrate the 4th of July? Mexico was colonized by the Spanish in the 1500's, so much so that the national language is Spanish, so it only makes sense that Mexicans celebrate an Hispanic month, as they are Hispanic.

Because there are many American citizens of Hispanic heritage. It's like celebrate black history month or Columbus day, we must respect our country's citizen's heritage.
we celebrate Hispanic heritage month because we want to remember our culture and costume's. As Latino a feel proud of where I'm from. A reason is because we have a beautiful and mixed background with Black, white and the Natives of that time.
