The Arabic word for "sick" is Marid (مريض). Marid backwards would be Dirm (ضيرم) which is absolutely meaningless.

Perhaps what you were looking for is the Arabic word for "pain" which is 'Ilm (ألم). 'Ilm backwards is Mala' which means "full" (ملء). This goes to the idea that a pain or lacking is the absence of fullness.
