John 3:16, often called 'The Gospel in a nutshell' is as follows (in the KJV):
"For God so loved the world, as to give his only begotten Son: that whosoever believeth in him may not perish, but may have life everlasting."
In the Latin Vulgate Bible, the same verse reads:
"Sic enim dilexit Deus mundum ut Filium suum unigenitum daret ut omnis qui credit in eum non pereat sed habeat vitam aeternam."

When quoting scripture, you say "In John 3:16 it says that 'For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son that whosoever believeth in Him shall not perish but have everlasting life'." or you can say "In John Chapter 3, Verse 16 it says that 'For God so loved the world...'" To say just the numbers or to quote chapter and verse is your choice because either is correct.

It's in the book of Revelation. If you get the words to it, go to www.biblegateway.com and type the words in the search bar, and it will bring up the chapter and verse. Although this will work, it should be noted that there is a great possibility that the chapter and verse are listed beside or under the text in the game which is on the wall when you play as a child. Also, the character's father recites the verse, and he may say the chapter and verse as he recites it.
