However if you are considering this as a name for a non-Hawaiian child, or yourself... keep in mind that it is considered very rude in the Hawaiian culture to take a Hawaiian name if you are not Hawaiian. Hawaiians consider names a gift and it is to be given by family members not just thought up out of the blue. If you have any respect for other cultures, don't name your children names of ethnicities you are not.
