Best Answer

It depends on the time of day. In the morning: Ohayou gozaimasu おはよう ございます(formal) or ohayou おはよう(informal).

In the afternoon: Konnichiwa. こんにちは。

In the evening: Konbanwa. こんばんは。

おはよう ございます (Ohayōgozaimasu) - Good morning (sometimes just おはよう, Ohayō)

こんにちわ (Kon'nichiwa) - Hello (as in Good day/Good afternoon)

こんばんわ (Konbanwa) - Good evening
