This requires a little bit of care. It makes a great deal of difference which of the verbs meaning "I am" that you use. In Spanish there are two, "estar" and "ser".

If you say "estoy aburrido", it means "I am bored" - a temporary state of mood.

If you say "Soy aburrido", it implies a intrinsic quality. In other words "I am boring".
