If you're on a scale which only provides a gross weight, you stop with just the drive axle on the scale and write down that weight. Then you pull forward until your drive axles are on the scale. Write down the total weight of the steer and drive axles... subtract the steer axle weight from the combined weight of the steer and drive axles, and you'll have your weight on your drives. Then you pull forward until all axles are on the scale. That'll be your gross weight. Subtract the combined weight of the drives and steer from that, and you'll have your trailer axle weight.
This is basic truck driving stuff.

How do you figure axel weight on a semi truck?

Well, you either go to a CAT scale, which weighs each groups of axles separately, or, if you're on a scale which only shows gross weight, then you axle out. You drive onto the scale and stop with only your steer axle on the scale. Then you write down that weight, and pull forward until your drive and steer axles are both on the scale. Then you write down that weight, and subtract the weight of your steer axle to get the weight on your drive axles. Then you pull forward until all axles are on the scale. This will be your gross weight, and you subtract the weight you got when you had the drive and steer axles on the scale in order to get the weight on your trailer axles.

How do you get a Trailer certificate of origin on a used trailer without a title?

Create your own home made trailer "Certificate of Origin". Title it "Certificate of Origin" include on it typical title and registrations details: Empty Weight (Obtain Certified Ticket of weight from a local CAT Scale establishment), Gross Vehicle weight (Usually 3500 LBS per Standard Axel), Under make or Model use "Homemade" as the type. Below the information type an AFFIDAVIT that you manufactured the trailer from owned recycled or scrape materials for your own use to road worthy standards. Deliver this Certificate with your "certified" Empty weight Certificate to your local DMV Registration office endorsed. Most State accept this but few may require a certification from a local service dealer of working lights etc... You can find a Certified Scale at most Truck Stops or Scrap Yards. Good Luck.

What are multi axle trucks?

A multi axle truck, refers in most occurrences, to a type of trailer that is being pulled behind a semi. In some instances a semi may be pulling one trailer behind it and other times it may be pulling two trailers. On each trailer there are two axles which attach to the tires. So if you see a sign that says $.50/axle and a semi truck is pulling a trailer, he will have to pay two dollars. One dollar for his own semi truck which has two axles and another dollar for the trailer that he is hauling.
