The 915 MHz frequency allows for wireless communication and data transmission, making it ideal for remote or hard-to-reach locations.
1st make sure your batteries are still working on the outside receiver. Then go inside and take the batteries out of your inside receiver (the clock). Put the new batteries in the clock and wait for the outside temperature to set. DO NOT SET THE TIME or anything else until the signal is received from the outside temp. If you get frustrated, take the outside transmitter inside and when it blinks the red light that is when the signal is sent, so wait for that. Hopefully this works for you.
If the clock is digital then it will say am or pm. Otherwise you can figure it out by looking outside and seeing whether it is morning AM or afternoon PM.
I had the same thing happen. I replaced the batteries in the outdoor sensor, but just got the two dashes on the clock that should display the outside temperature. After I replaced the batteries in the clock itself, the outside temperature then showed up properly on the clock. I also took all batteries out of both devices and replaced them in the order recommended in the directions on the back of the clock. I hope that helps.
