Put it in drive?! Not recommended for the solo mechanic. Do not try this at home.
The wire that you're looking for can be found by pulling back the top of the passengers carpet. It's a single wire connector coming out of the main harness that goes to the ecm. Again, behind the top of the carpet and against the firewall. Can't be missed.
Answeri have the same question. but i know that the number 1 cylinder should fire at top dead center. but before you can set the timing you have to disconnect the electronic ignition wire. its a tan wire with a black stripe. after you disconnect that. you put the car in drive and move the distributer back and forth till it fires at TDC.the only problem is that i cant find that tan and black wire. mitchell on demand says that it is near the distributer. but i cant find the damn thing. hope you have better luck than i did. i just did it by sound.

No you can not puth a 3.8 liter Pontiac engine into no s10 the motor mounts are way diffrent and the pontaic is a front wheel drive
