You don't. The timing is adjusted thru the ECM.
On a 1998 S10 2.2 truck, 18 gallons.
There is no idle adjustment. The idle is adjusted electronically by the ecm. If you have a problem with the idle you may have other issues like a vacuum leak.

it might as long as the engine the transmission was originally mounted to wasnt a 2.5 ltr or 2.8. the bell houseing want match from these two engines .a 4.3 ltr transmission might match up to a full size chevy truck .especally if you are matching the trans to a 305,350 motors.
Assuming you mean tps (throttle position sensor), the 1983 S10 with the 2.8 L engine has a 2 barrel Rochester carburetor. It doesn't have a tps.
Take it to mechani
it has timing chain
It is on the top of the starter.

I too have a 87 blazer and are currently working on my timing. Chiltons says to have 5 degree timing in it although it has little detail, if you get a book you might want to get a hanes. hope it helps Is there no decal under the hood telling you what it should be? My '86 2.8 Chevy timing is 19 degrees BTDC. I don't know why there is so much difference between vehicles and the years. I'd think all 2.8s would be the same timing?? cheers.
It must have a timing CHAIN , the Gates website ( they make timing belts etc . ) does not list a timing belt
The distributor is set to 0 degrees with a scan tool. You cannot do this with a timing light.
