Then click Properties in the drop down list.
The Properties box gives information on the dates of creation and modifications, who the document is assigned to.
It will also give statistics as the number of words, useful for exam papers when they ask for an essay of say 5000 words.
In Microsoft Word if you want to copy the format of a selection and not the content what do you do?

On your computer, click start and go to my documents, there you will find all the documents you have previously saved on that particular computer. if you do not have word downloaded on your computer the word document will not open.
Go to "File, Properties" then the Summary tab to show the author. To to "File, Properties" then the Statistics tab to show information about the file creation, last modified, last accessed and last printed dates. Thanks so much!

Word documents could be linked into the website my marking their sources. A word document might be referred from a text by <a> tag.

The split feature can be used to show different panes in the window, enabling you to see different parts of the document.

You can copy (ctrl>c) and paste (ctrl>v) into one of the documents, or you can just type it into the new document.
The document areas is the main working area when working with electronic documents. For instance, the document area in Microsoft Word is the part of the document you type into.
It will be in the title bar and also in the Properties.
