You can unlock the car with the remote or with the key in a door to shut off the factory alarm.
if you did disconnect the alarm, it wouldn't let you start the car because of the immboliser
Insert the ignition key into the ignition and turn it to on, the alarm should shut off.
It runs off the car's battery.
Insert the correct key into the ignition switch and start the engine. That should shut the alarm off.
If a person uses a key to unlock an alarmed vehicle, the alarm can be turned off on the 2000 Honda Civic LX by starting the car and putting it in gear. Then, put the car in park and shut the car off. Start the car again and the alarm should go off.
The alarm
The alarm itself is on the driver side of the car, close to the firewall. Just take the silly thing out if you can.
the car alarm will allow the car to start and run briefly then "shut down".
Get out of your car. Lock and unlock the car at drivers door. Your alarm system was on and needs to be reset.
Hold down the left button by the tachometer until you see a slash through the mph 1 or 2 warning in the middle of the dash.
