You have to be lucky and find the two switches in the trash cans that mix up every time you make a mistake. You don't need to battle him, though. He does nothing but give you advice on my cartridge.

∙ 10y agoIts Hard, But You Have To Press The Trash Cans and eventually it will say, "Hey! theres a switch here!" then your gonna have to find the next lever to pull then the door will open.

The three crystals puzzle you encounter in Pokemon Mystery Dungeon: Explorers of Darkness is really quite simple to complete. It requires you to have all the crystals matching in colour - which resebles the colour of 'Azelf's spirit'. This is achieved by touching each crystal (by pressing the 'a' button once you are close to it) until it turns the right colour. Your partner Pokemon gives you a hint before you figgure out the puzzle. Your partner wonders alloud about the colour of 'Azelf's spirit' and comes to the conclusion that it is the same as running water or a lake (blue), which also matches the colour of Azelf itself. So, you must turn each crystal blue in order to open the entrance to Azelf's lake.
