parrain. the word "padriño" (previously entered) seems to be more of spanish way to say godfather, but I am not spanish.

Step-father is translated by 'beau-père". The same word is used for father-in-law.

likewise, "une belle-mère" is either a mother-in-law, or a step-mother.
