'are' in Spanish can derive from one of two verbs:

'ser' = to be, relating to innate or more-permanent states; and

'estar' = 'to be', relating to more transient (mood, location) states.

Each verb has five possibilities for 'are',

two (singular: 'eres' and plural 'sois' = 'you are' (informal))

one 'somos' = 'we are'

two (singular: 'es' and plural 'son' = 'you are' and 'they are' (formal))

or

'estas' and 'estais'

'estamos'

'esta' and 'estan'

NB There is an accent over the 'a' in these words, except 'estamos'
