Is it possible to install a loader on a Massey Ferguson 1010 tractor?

Loader on Massey 1010 tractorThere is a site http://www.loaderplans.com that offers plans for loaders to fit small tractors of all types. The Massey 1010 is similar to Allis and Deutz-Allis models made by Hinomoto, for which the manufacturer and loader manufacturers make models to fit. It should be noted that hydrostatic transmissions are better able to withstand the strain of heavy use such as loader work than gear transmissions. On any tractor the side rails (frame) should be reinforced with plate steel and the side brackets should be fastened to a cross beam under the tractor to prevent stress damage from the loader.

Why is John Deere 1010 hard to start?

The John Deere 1010 was a beautiful tractor and it had plenty of power, but at times it was hard to start, especially in wet weather. The earlier 1010's had a round tubing front axle and the later 1010"s had a square front axle. Many considered the earlier 1010's with the round front axles to be a lemon and one of the worst tractors that JD ever made. The 1010 was the first JD to switch from the 2 cylinder pop pops and enough reasearch, development and testing was not done before they were manufactured and sold. JD used old model transmissions and parts and a new style engine which resulted in some long range reliability problems, and starting the tractor was one of them. One problem they had was that the condensor would burn up rather quickly which would burn the points, thus making it hard to start. If you change the plugs, points and condensor regularly and often spray the cap and wires with a water proofer it should help.

How much oil and what type is in Massey Ferguson 1010 diesel tractor?

Engine crankcase takes 2.3 US quarts. Oil and filter change, 2.64 US quarts. However, if your tractor oil pan has 2 drain plugs, it is a later model and it will hold a little more oil. Mine is like this and I believe it took 3.2 US quarts with an oil and filter change. Check the dipstick on level ground. Note when you add oil to the fuel injection pump, any overflow will run into the engine crankcase. It uses exactly the same oil, but be careful to not overfill the crankcase as a result. MF recommended SAE 30w or 10w-30 above 40 degrees F, 10w-30 only below 40 F. I use Rotella oil in my 1010. Make sure you use a motor oil rated for diesel use.

What weight oil for harry Ferguson t 30?

Any basic oil, depending on your preference. I use 15w40, but 15w30, 10w30 or 10w40 should be fine just depends on your applications for the tractor/age. I also recommend on an older tractor that isn't in use much or hasn't been tuned to use slick 50 oil treatment. I use a napa 1010 cartridge style filter for the oil as well.
